Watch Care: How to Clean a Rolex
People have argued about if it is possible, and certainly the answer is that any one can keep their Rolex or vintage watch pristine…
There has been some controversy, and I think it is rather simple to keep your Rolex and other luxury watches like new. Soap and water is what has been working for more than 15 years on all my luxury watches with bracelets. Using a dish soap is not advised as people have had problems with the grease cutting properties drying out the gaskets prematurely. Even when you clean your bracelet often there is no reason why a gentle hand soap and your fingers can’t wash your watch well. A soap with hand lotion will not harm your fine timepiece if it is not posing any problems for your hands. I rinse my Rolex on a weekly basis and have never had any issues of build up on them. Be certain the crown is tightened and can not come undone. Look for any signs of condensation and if some is eveident than bring the timepiece in for repair. The ideas expressed here are only one way available to keep your Rolex or other high end watch looking like new. People do use a soft brush for this task however I have never felt that I nee one.
