1. Step 1

   Remove the back of the watch. Some watches snap on the back. Use a screwdriver as leverage between the back and the wristwatch to pop the back off. Other wristwatches have screws. Unscrew the screws from the back.

2. Step 2

   Take out the face and the wristwatch components together. Remove the wristwatch hands from the stem. Remember the position of the hands. You must know what hands set on top of the other when putting the watch back together. Slide the face of the wristwatch off the hands.

3. Step 3

   Make a template for the wood facing on cardboard or thick paper. Use the old watch face as a guide.

4. Step 4

   Cut out and sand the wood. Drill a hole in the middle, big enough for the stem to fit through. Smooth the edges. Spray lacquer onto the wooden face and allow it to dry.

5. Step 5

   Assemble the watch face. Slide the stem of the wristwatch components through the hole. Attach the watch piece to the back of the wood with the screws on the clock piece. Add the hands to the stem just as they were before you removed them.

6. Step 6

   Slide the face back into the wristwatch and place the back onto the watch.
